Winning just one Grammy Award for any musician is a huge feat. And I mean just one Grammy throughout an entire music career. However, some musicians have walked home with up to five Grammy Awards in just a single night. That is by all standards a terrific accomplishment for any singer.

1. Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson wasn’t named ‘King of Pop’ just for nothing. He had his first taste of a lone Grammy award win in 1980. But fast forward to 1984, Jackson walked out of the Shrine Auditorium, in Los Angeles with eight Grammy awards. The works that pulled in these awards include “Beat It,” Thriller, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

Notably, Michael Jackson and Santana have an equal amount of Grammy wins (8) in one night, but MJ is the first artist to do so!

2. Santana

The Santana band struck a tie with Michael Jackson at the 42nd edition of the awards for the number of Grammys won in a single night. Receiving a total of eight awards, Santana had six singles from the Supernatural album earn one Grammy each. While the other two Grammys went to the former album itself.

3. Quincy Jones

The American songwriter and musician went home during the 33rd Grammy Awards in 1991 with 6 prizes including the “Album Of The Year” category with Back On The Block. Times Magazine named him one of the most influential jazz musicians of the 20th century. Quincy holds 28 of the total grammies, only after Beyoncé who has 32.

4. Roger Miller

The 8th Annual Grammy Awards was seemingly carved out just for one man — Roger Miller. For the sensational “King Of The Road” song and album The Return of Roger Miller, the singer closed that award night with six Grammy awards added to his list of previous wins. This made Miller the highest award winner for the night.

5. Eric Clapton

To the admiration of millions of viewers from across the globe, Clapton swept six Grammys at the 35th edition of the awards. The then forty-eight-year-old singer and guitarist kept all eyes fixed on him that night as the songs “Tears In Heaven,” “Layla,’ and the Unplugged album carted away the Grammy wins.

6. Beyonce

In 2023, Beyonce hit a crescendo in the history of the Grammys when she raised her Grammy Award collection to thirty-two. In 2010, at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, Beyonce led with six Grammy wins with the songs “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” “Halo,” “At Last,” and the album I Am… Sasha Fierce.

7. Adele

Since Adele’s first entry in 2009 into the Grammy’s long list of winners, the “Someone Like You” maestro has won the most Grammy Awards in a single night on two occasions. The first was at the 2012 edition of the awards where she carted six awards – three for “Rolling in the Deep,” while the second was in 2017 where she led the night with five awards.

8. Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars bagged his first Grammy Award in 2011 for the song “Just The Way You Are” under the category of Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. In 2018, the artist went away with six Grammy Awards for the 24k Magic album comprising “That’s What I Like” which happens to be his seventh Billboard Hot 100 number-one single.

9. Paul Simon

Paul Simon’s first entry into the Grammys list of winners was in 1969. Since this first, Simon has had a whopping 35 nominations and 16 Grammy wins altogether. But in 1970, the album and single titled “Bridge Over Troubled Water” garnered five prestigious Grammy Awards that night.
