The movie, “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé” was released on December 1, 2023 purposely, as it is the day that celebrates International AIDS Day. Also,  it is a form of tribute to her late uncle Johnny who paved her way into Black dance culture before he died during the AIDS epidemic,  which is a major theme of the Renaissance album. The 42 years old producer was in charge as the movie’s director, and and made sure to feature her rapper husband, Jay Z and children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter. The famous entertainment queen also featured some of her colleagues like Megan Thee Stallion, Kendrick Lamar and Cardi B, among others.

While this movie is not a first for Beyoncé; it is an innovative one, as it shows everything – from behind the scenes to rehearsals and down to her personal life, she’s known for her perfectionism, as reflected in her performances and well rehearsed choreography.  However this time she’s giving us a peep into her vulnerable side, showing not just the end product but also all the challenges faced and hard work put into every bit of her work. The artist also gave us a little idea of how she’s been able to balance her marriage, motherhood, music career and businesses. “Renaissance: A film by Beyoncé” also encapsulates and stands as a representation of Beyoncé’s transition from being a perfectionist to living in freedom as she stated in the movie that she is not a machine, she is indeed human and has got nothing to prove to nobody anymore.
