Vultures – Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign

The collaborative album between Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign has been the talk of the town for a while as fans have been expecting the album to drop this year. The album which is said to have a track featuring Nicki Minaj was originally scheduled to drop on December 15, 2023, but was shifted,  not once but twice. Now, the album is expected to drop on the 12th of January 2024. However, this date still hangs by the thread, judging by the previous experience with its major curator Kanye West. Being a good fan of West, you’d be familiar with this trend of keeping fans on their toes with his album releases.  Nonetheless, Vulture is highly anticipated and with every detail released about it, the album is set to be a blast and possibly, one of the best albums of 2024.

This Is Me… Now – Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez makes a grand return to the music scene with the announcement of her ninth studio album,  This Is Me… Now. The album draws inspiration from her rekindled romance with actor, Ben Affleck who is her husband. Accompanied by a film of the same name on Prime Video, Lopez’s album promises a glimpse into her evolved narrative. Her new album, This is Me…Now aside from being her first album in about a decade also celebrates her 2002 album This is Me…Then.  

Orquideas – Kali Uchis

Colombian singer,  Kali Uchis gears up for her fourth studio album which is also her second all-Spanish-language project, Orquideas. Her lead single “Muñekita” featuring El Alfa and JT from City Girls captivated audiences with its dembow-infused beats, setting a high bar for her upcoming album, bringing artists together that you’d least expect.” According to the “Moonlight” singer said in a press release. “El Alfa is a Latino legend and JT is someone I’ve admired forever. Both of them are known for their summer hits and high energy, so I’m incredibly excited to bring them together for a fun, sexy song like this.” She also spoke about the orchid being the inspiration behind the new record during an interview with Billboard Español. In her words, she said, “The orchid is the national flower of Colombia, and we have more species of orchid than anywhere on earth, I always felt distinctly intrigued and magnetized by the flower. This album is inspired by the timeless, eerie, mystic, striking, graceful, and sensual allure of the orchid. With this vast scope of fresh energy, I wish to redefine the way we look at Latinas in music.”

 Saviors – Green Day

Celebrating milestones with the 30th and 20th anniversaries of their acclaimed albums, Green Day announces their 14th studio album, Saviors. With “The American Dream is Killing Me” as the lead single, the punk-pop trio prepares for a triumphant comeback with a new tracklist of 15 songs on the 19th of Jan. 2024. Anticipation mounts as fans brace themselves for an album that promises to redefine their musical experience and reignite the love that defined their earlier classics.

What Now – Brittany Howard

Following her 2019 solo record Jaime, Brittany Howard’s What Now teases an exploration into unbounded musical territories. The title track’s preview hints at a dynamic, friction-filled album, showcasing Howard’s experimental and lyrical prowess. according to the Alabama singer, she said  “‘What Now’ is maybe the truest and bluest of all the songs, It’s never my design to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I needed to say what was on my mind without editing myself. I like how it’s a song that makes you want to dance, but at the same time the lyrics are brutal.”

People Who Aren’t There Anymore – Future Islands

The Baltimore synth-pop band embarks on their seventh album journey, People Who Aren’t There Anymore,  following swiftly after their just concluded As Long As You Are tour derived from the Album of the same name. They have, in fact, with no time wasted released a song titled “The Tower” from the list of songs on the coming album. Known for consistently delivering the best songs, the album promises an introspective and enthralling experience.

Dua Lipa

Kicking off the list is the highly anticipated third studio album from the pop sensation of the music industry, Dua Lipa. Although the upcoming album and its details continue to remain shrouded in mystery, Lipa released a song “Houdini” which is supposedly the album’s lead single. The Bronx rapper, Cardi B, plans to return to the limelight after a short hiatus focused on family,  with some new music next year. The highly anticipated record, following her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy, is set to take the rap world by storm, led by the fiery single “Bongos” with Megan Thee Stallion. Although there was some rumor saying she shifted her album release date to the coming year due to the release of Taylor Swift’s new album, she took her time to debunk all the rumors during her interview on Ebro in the morning recently. “I wasn’t even thinking like that…for this album, I’m just holding it because I feel like I’m missing a couple of things,” she said.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez surprises fans with the promise of a new full-length album arriving sooner than expected. She made this known on her social media pages while replying to a comment from one of her fans. Although Selena never gave an album title or any special information about the coming album, she did say we should expect it in two months, which means the hip-hop star plans to release her album in the early days of the new year. Since Ariana Grande dropped her 2020 album Position she’s been off without releasing new projects. However, it seems we have her back as she teases her highly awaited seventh album through a series of emotional studio snapshots, hinting at a raw and introspective journey.
