See the Moment Charli XCX Brings Lorde and Addison Rae Out at the Sweat Tour in NYC

Everyone who was live at Madison Square Garden for Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s Sweat Tour Concert experienced a beautiful spine-chilling brat summer. The energy was electric from the very beginning, with lots of exciting surprises in between.

Rather than the typical structure of separate performance sets, Charli and Troye decided to break the mold, delivering something refreshingly different. The duo traded places every few songs, keeping the momentum high throughout the two-hour spectacle. It felt more like an incredible dance party than a typical concert.

Troye kicked things off with “Got Me Started,” and without mincing words, he set the tone for the night. The way he dropped to his knees at the end of the song, with that suggestive mic dangle from his dancer, was bold and thrilling. His choreography throughout the night was on point, giving nods to *NSYNC and even Shania Twain at times.

But the real jaw-dropping moments came with the appearance of the surprise guests. The crowd absolutely lost it when Lorde revealed herself from beneath the stage. Her appearance was a rare live outing for the New Zealand-born singer, making it the ultimate surprise of the evening. Dressed in a dark, flowing gown and slouchy coat, her signature curls framed her face. It was as if Lorde was mirroring Charli’s own style—perhaps a cheeky reference to the line, “People say we’re alike, they say we’ve got the same hair…”

They traded verses with iconic chemistry and camaraderie, strutting across the stage with swagger as they owned the lyric “you walk like a bitch” with unbridled confidence. By the end, they warmly embraced, leaving the audience in awe and buzzing with excitement.

Lorde’s appearance meant more than a performance. It also showed the close bond she shares with Charli. Fans had long speculated about the nature of their relationship, with “girl, so confusing” fueling rumors of rivalry and tension. But this live duet proved that Lorde truly does “ride for Charli”. The two pop stars put any perceived differences aside to showcase their undeniable artistry and friendship.

Lorde wasn’t the only surprise guest of the night. Earlier in the set, Addison Rae appeared to perform the viral hit “Diet Pepsi.” And things got even more exciting with Troye Sivan lending his voice to the vocals as well. Rae later returned to join Charli on the “Von Dutch” remix, solidifying her status as a rising star.

Throughout the evening, Charli and Troye captivated the crowd with a seamless blend of hits from Charli’s acclaimed album brat and fan favorites from Troye’s 2023 release Something to Give Each Other. Highlights included the extended version of “Spring Breakers,” which added even more flair to the unforgettable night.

What truly set this performance apart was the duo’s impressive vocal range and magnetic stage presence. As the Sweat Tour continues its journey across North America. Fans are left wondering what other surprises Charli and Troye might have in store. One thing is clear: the super duo have solidified their place as a must-see collaboration, worth the hype and accolades.
